Btw, the map im trying to edit its the poringball, this one posted here - http://www.eathena.ws/board/index.php?showtopic=162138

Thanks.

This helps tremendously.... And such a silly glitch on my part...

The poring ball map has no models... thus crashes when it checks for "zero" models.... I'll make a fix for this shortly.

This should fix it...

Thanks for the fast solution! It works now, but I got another question... Is Right-Clicking suppoused to do something? When I right-click on the Map Edditor I get this Runtime 9 again, so is it suppoused to pop up a menu or something or what?

Thanks once again.

Yes, depending on which mode you select from the mode menu, it pops up a copy of the edit menu (when the tool selected is the "selection" tool).

Did you hit any of the options? (copy, paste, pasteswap)
Also, which mode were you in?... its different for each mode.

I checked with the poring ball map from before but couldn't get this error to occur.

I thought I posted a reply to this already....

Anyhow.... Checked all links and ran checks against the archived master copies... the files check out fine.
(Removed old and expired links)

Thanks for the sanity check.

This is the first Map Editor that I have got working, everything else will crash or not even load at all.

I only wanted to make a simple blank temp map for a mall but nothing worked. I have not edited or saved anything but at the very least, this is the only one that actually opened up a map for editing. Every other one crashed.
Thanks a million!
(^__^)

EDIT: Ok so I have been testing this out for a bit. No errors and no crashes!!! So awesome job on that one.
Though I am finding it a bit confusing to work with...or maybe I just do not fully understand how it works. (I have made many other maps and elements for various games but this seems like its a lot harder then it should be.)

Anyways maybe if I describe what I am trying to do, I can get some help.

So as I said before I want to make a home for the custom NPCs I have. Every server has that "Home Town" where they choose a town and load it with their NPCs...well I want to go beyond that and make my own town, but obviously right now as I am a beginner at map editing in RO that is not possible so I am going step by step, and just editing a map to place the NPCs on temporarily until I get better.

The map I have chosen to edit is Gonryun.
So first off I removed all the objects to get a clean start. (so far so good)
So now I have a nice clean map, but those tiny islands on there are really in the way so I decided to get rid of them....and this is where my problems start...some how while removing them I ended up having all vectors link to the bottom leftmost tile. (or at least thats what the 3d preview in your program showed.)

I was selecting the islands then right clicking to get eh menu then I was clicking clear.

Maybe I am going about is wrong, but I seem to not be able to remove the outside islands correctly.

Could anyone help with this? Explain the right way of doing it or why this is happening?

I wish I could make it easier, but the 3d is a bit difficult for me... So the 3d viewer isn't as I imagined it can be yet...

If you have anything that can help then let me know...

The clear function pulls the tile references off the tiles... to the RO client this makes them invisible.
Hmmm all vectors linked to 0,0? I remember previous revisions (before R80) if a cube or tile was missing the "grid" mapped weird corners to 0,0... Though the vectors are merely copies, so reloading either the map or the 3d window should adjust that.

But I do see a different issue that you may not be seeing... for some reason when you "clear tiles" it clears only top tiles and leaves the north and east tile there.

I'm glad you mentioned the "clear tiles" so I could look at that specifically... though I couldn't get the verticies to all jump to 0,0. (Show Textures, No Grid, No Wireframe, Show Water)

Assuming the GAT was saved, Check to see if a cursor shows up when dragging over the area in game.... if so then according to the client you "should" be able to walk there.

Also note that when editing a map its best to have a completely walkable GAT in the eA SERVER (test server) cache so the server doesn't prevent you from walking there, (this is generally what i do when I do map edits) when you have a completed map then apply the GAT to the server cache.

Hmmm... Yep they kinda expired...

I've added some new links for R80, this should take care of the expired links for the time being.
(Link's in the First post)

Thank you for the link check.
