=============================================================== This is a translation pack for the Korean Ragnarok Online game client that includes everything you need to fully translate the entire game client into English. The item and skill descriptions are based on iRO translations and have had many corrections and additions suggested by members of the Ragnarok fan community, as well as the work done by the authors of the two individual translation packs. So far the item names and descriptions as well as the patch client and in-game buttons/dialogs have been compiled by Me, with the skill names and descriptions having been compiled by midas. Both of these projects have been merged into an SVN repository generously supplied by iKKe, which allows other members of the community to help Me, midas and the other Developers in the huge task of keeping it all up to date. Please note that there are NO custom items in this translation pack! - Downloads! -------------------------------- You can download the latest RAR releases from http://mrmagoo.psiblade.net/translation/. See below for installation help. You can find the translation project SVN repository at http://opensvn.csie.org/EnglishTranslation/, you might want to check http://subversion.tigris.org for an SVN client and information on how to use SVN. - Installing the translation pack -------------------------------- The easiest way to install the translation pack is using the RAR releases, these are split into three sections to make updates easier and downloads smaller. Installing them is as simple as extracting the RAR file to your Ragnarok Online directory using WinRAR or 7-Zip. Each pack has a v?? at the beginning which is the version number of that pack, the version number will only increase when something in that section needs updating. The version number of the BMPs and Texture packs will always be much lower that the Text pack as the Text section is updated very frequently, the BMPs and Texture folder do not change very often and so they require fewer releases. Always make sure you have the latest version of each pack to stay up to date, if you are not sure which you need then install all 3 (having backed up your old data folder!). - Tips for people having problems ---------------------------------- If this is the first time you are using the translation pack then it is recommended you rename your old data folder and rebuild it using the these translation packs so no old files are left behind to cause problems. You can then copy in any custom items or bits you need that are not part of the translation packs from your old data folder. If you hex your own sakexe using the diff patcher then make sure you select "[Data](7) Use Plain Text Descriptions" when making your exe or your item descriptions will appear as gibberish in the game! If you can't change your sakexe for whatever reason and these descriptions still show up as gibberish then grab a copy of ragtxtpr from http://eamirror.skamfroj.net. Use ragtxtpr to encode num2itemdesctable.txt and idnum2itemdesctable.txt and it should fix the problem. If you have a problem with the BMP and skin translations not working (Buttons are still in Korean) try changing the folder name from "ŔŻŔúŔÎĹÍĆäŔĚ˝ş" to "À¯ÀúÀÎÅÍÆäÀ̽º" or "유저인터페이스". (The last one is in Korean. You need an Unicode compatible Operating System [Such as Windows XP. 98 wont work.] and Korean fonts installed.) The first one seams to be working, if you use European txt encoding, while the second is for American encoding. The Korean text is universal. If any of the following files exist in your data folder, and you don't use any custom items, then it is recommended you remove them... bookitemnametable.txt, carditemnametable.txt, fogparametertable.txt, indoorrswtable.txt, itemparamtable.txt, itemslotcounttable.txt, itemslottable.txt, leveluseskillspamount.txt, mapobjlighttable.txt, metalprocessitemtable.txt, mp3nametable.txt, num2cardillustnametable.txt, resnametable.txt These files do not need translating and are best read directly from the sdata.grf, as long as you keep kRO Sakray updated you will be 100% sure that you wont get any error's due to old files. If you want these files for custom items then extract them yourself, we will not provide them! - What do the packs contain? ----------------------------- Text Files - v??-Text.rar English Items, Cards, Skills, Map Names, Game Messages, Monster & Pet Talks, Bards 'Frost Joke' & Dancers 'Scream' Skill. Texture Folder - v??-Texture.rar Files that go into the Data/texture folder, translates in-game + login buttons & Windows. Tip Of The Day, Skin and Patcher Pack - v??-BMPs.rar English Tip Of The Day, Default RO Skin (+ euRO Skin ^^) and translations of kRO's Patch Client Buttons. They go directly to the RO folder, not the data folder. ------------ If you find any errors, typos, or think you can help with the translations, please post your suggestions here or PM Me or mrmagoo! Happy Downloading ^^ Enjoy an English Korean Ragnarok Online Game Client ^^ |

Wait. Is 4_f_shaman a free slot NPC? I mean they are not used in the official one?

@NLZ
Oops, that was a mistake I made when pasting the temp plugs for the new items, I forgot to delete the "Equipped on" lines. Sorry. :( @theultramage Thanks, I will fix that in my next commit. Playtester confirmed that the Spear Quicken skill dont work in 1-handed spears. @everyone I think that 4_f_shaman is a forgotten slot NPC too, since is not present in data or sdata. Most probably, someone in an old ancient time decided to just fill the void and chose the sprite that he/she liked most and renamed it to shaman, being that sprite the Son sprite (I've seen many servers custom GRFs and they all use Son). And someone else used the japanese girl sprite. But I think that Son is certainly not suitable for that name, and if that void must been filled, then the japanese girl sprite that the CSS25 site shows is best suited for it. I will change it in the next version, but all of you are of course capable of changing it to whatever you want, since I *think* that the NPC is not officially used (because is spriteless). Many NPC Lists around I've seen also use said japanese girl sprite too. EDIT: Done in v6-Texture.rar. EDIT 2: All fixes applied in SVN 306. Update to the website's Text RAR pack. Why do we call Hugel to the Power Source City? The Garden City sounds much better... (IMG:http://www.eathena.ws/board/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Current KRO mapnametable:
QUOTE hugel.rsw#전원도시 휘겔# Google Translation: Garden city [hwi] [keyl] So it should be The Garden City. (IMG:http://www.eathena.ws/board/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) I'll change it. (IMG:http://www.eathena.ws/board/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) |

Hmm... what's this about Son and Shaman npc slot?
I know Son is 4_f_son, class 756, jRO specific NPC. And shaman is 720. So I don't see a conflict there. I suppose I am missing something? Or is my source not to trust? |

QUOTE (Haplo @ May 18 2006, 05:32 PM) @everyone I think that 4_f_shaman is a forgotten slot NPC too, since is not present in data or sdata. The sprite for 4_f_shaman is not available now. I used before that list you mention Skotlex, as a source too. And I think that CSS25 used it too. As you can see in that same list, Shaman (720) and 4_f_jpnmu (769) looks exactly the same. Is weird because nowhere appears in which official server this Shaman sprite is used. But many private servers used the Son sprite for this file instead, I dont know why. Anyway, the RAR package now contains the same girl sprite that appears in Kalen list. You may want to switch to the CSS25 NPC list now, since it contains the newest NPC sprites: http://www.css2006.deltaanime.net/npclist.html @T3Vince You seem to have a sprite problem, update your Sakray to the latest and delete any *resnametable from your data folder/custom GRF (if you have one), or update the resnametables if they are too old and you have custom items to keep. I got a hint about these two things from habdl ...
1) QUOTE Maya purple card I don't remember details anymore, but there were numerous discussions about the new packet for infravision, and I think there was a mention about it uncloaking players as well... but I've got absolutely no proof, just a suspicion.4198# Enable its user to detect hidden monsters. 2) QUOTE Hydra card 4035# Increase damage on DemiHuman monsters by 20%. The same issue, but this time it's more serious. But in all guides I read on the net, every one advised to bring a hydra-carded weapon to WoE. Because players are demi-human, medium sized monsters with a default norm prop. (IMG:http://www.eathena.ws/board/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) But its an open secret. (IMG:http://www.eathena.ws/board/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

You should probably change "monster" to "enemy" in pretty much all item descriptions except those whose bonuses really only apply to mobs (which are likely on-kill stuff).

Haplo, could you standardize the Bard & Dancer Classes skill requirements in the skilldesctables? I mean these for example:
QUOTE (BD_ADAPTATION) Required For: Encore (Bard & Dancer), Ugly Dance (Dancer), Dissonance (Bard) QUOTE (BD_DRUMBATTLEFIELD) Required For: The Ring of Nibelungen (L3 Bard/Dancer) QUOTE (AC_CONCENTRATION) Required For: Detect (L1), Wind Walker (L9 Sniper), Falcon Eyes (L10 Sniper), Focused Arrow Strike (L10 Sniper), Sheltering Bliss (L5 Minstrel/Gypsy), Marionette Control (L10 Minstrel & Gypsy), Hermode's Rod (L10 Minstrel & Gypsy), Tarot Card of Fate (L10 Minstrel & Gypsy). And could you standardize the capital city names as well? QUOTE (mapnametable) rachel.rsw#Rachel, Capital of Arunafelz the Study Nation# yuno.rsw#Yuno, the capital of Schwarzwald Republic# prontera.rsw#Prontera City, Capital of Rune Midgard# Maybe Yuno, Capital of Schwarzwald Republic, or as you think it look good. NLZ, the Bard and Dancer classes ARE standarized... that's why they are like that. (IMG:http://www.eathena.ws/board/style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif)
If you read Skill Notes.txt in the /data/Dev folder: QUOTE Required For: (L#/Job if not current). "Bard & Dancer"= skill shared by both, that can be used independently; "Bard/Dancer"= ensemble skill. Ensemble = must be executed by both at same time.I put it in the Changelog too: QUOTE 03/15 * Fixed item 1718 weight according to current KRO description, thanks to KarLaeda. [Haplo] * Fixed minor typos. [Haplo] * Added 13/03 skill balances except "When using Lightning Spear of Ice on top of Hidden Water, at maximum skill level, will add 20% bonus damage to Lightning Spear of Ice. Also, Water Ball and Aqua Benedicta's "effective range" will also be decreased." 'cause i cant make sense of it, added to Todo [midas] * Fixed item 1719 Applicable Job, active guild skills Cast Time, GD_EMERGENCYCALL description and many "Required For" fields in skill files. Also changed 2 wrong "Applicable Job" for "Applicable Pet". All this thanks to KarLaeda and his hard work. [Haplo] * Changed the NJ "Raging Dragon of Fire" skill name in default and "-iRO" to the better and shorter "Raging Fire Dragon". [Haplo] * Fixed typos here and there. In "Required For" field, now "Bard & Dancer" or "Clown & Gypsy" means a skill shared by both jobs that can be used independently; and "Bard/Dancer" or "Clown/Gypsy" means an ensemble skill shared by both jobs that must be executed by both. Also added "-SoulLinked" to those skills that can be obtained only through the Soul Linker skills. [Haplo] I did it like that to be more informative. (IMG:http://www.eathena.ws/board/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) I'll fix Yuno city name. (IMG:http://www.eathena.ws/board/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) |

It bugs me to bring up this item AGAIN...
PF_MEMORIZE, does it reduces cast time of all skills by half? really? because the eA code says something... different. It makes cast time half for targetted spells, and it makes cast time be 1/3! for ground skills x.x I wanted to fix this months ago, but noone could ever confirm to me that the skill really is half for all types of spells and the eA implementation is just a typo x.X' EDIT: Since none of the searches I've done around speak of 1/3 anywhere.. I am gonna change the eA implementation to fit the description <.<'' I hope this doesn't backfires later. |

Well, after looking for a while, I cant find anything about Memorize working different for some kind of spells, so I think that everyone are treated the same (half cast time reduction). RagnaInfo official statement is that one too:
http://www.ragnainfo.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=28669 QUOTE - Memorize (Active Skill), LV 1 Requirements: Advanced Book LV 5, Free Cast LV 5, Auto Spell LV 1 * It cuts casting time to half for any single skill for 5 times. This effect will last as long as you don't use that skill, but will lose effect of this skill upon your death. Memorize's casting time is 5 seconds regardless of DEX. ~ ATTENTION ~ We need someone who can help us translating the korean names and descriptions. Vicious_Pucca does an outstanding job translating and we are very grateful to him, but is usually too busy to do it frequently. (IMG:http://www.eathena.ws/board/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I would like to ease his burden a little with another helping hand, since there is still a lot of things to translate. We dont want Babelfish translations because they are usually impossible to understand. We would like someone that could give us good and understandable translations. If any of you have a good korean knowledge and is interested in helping, please send me a PM. Thank you in advance. (IMG:http://www.eathena.ws/board/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) |

QUOTE (Haplo @ May 14 2006, 02:42 PM) It looks like one for me (maybe the "son" is the key?). (IMG:http://www.eathena.ws/board/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) But besides that, dont tell me that a girl in jeans listening a stereo is suitable as a "shaman" sprite. (IMG:http://www.eathena.ws/board/style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) The japanese girl at least is using something like a japanese priestess costume and suits far better. (IMG:http://www.eathena.ws/board/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Edit: and look this cutin for it.... shaman?? I dont think so. (IMG:http://www.eathena.ws/board/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) (IMG:http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/7093/son9ke.png) The girl its a POPsinger (IMG:http://www.eathena.ws/board/style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) the sprite is used to advertising ingame(Only on Korean RO). The NPC Popsinger its a Free Inn In the 2004 im unsure. |
